Slowly, Anna and Dean let each other in, blending their two worlds into one. But when a series of events brings Dean’s world into perspective, he pushes Anna away. Not willing to accept the line that divides them, Anna sets out to bring Dean back to her. Her determination and faith in their future puts her on the tracks of danger, and he is the only one who can save her.

I need a button that reads: Broken boys in book are better.  Tessa Marie can write a broken boy. She’s also quite good at slightly broken, almost perfect girls - Ivy League material to be exact. What happens when a homeless boy and a semi perfect girl collide? Perfection, that’s what.

Dean is, you guessed it, homeless. He’s been on the streets for a while now. It beats living in his previous foster home. If sleeping on the cold hard ground, scraping and scrounging for money, and looking over your shoulder at each turn is better than you’re foster home, it must have been atrocious.  And from all accounts, it was. Dean’s resigned himself to the fact that this is his life. Occasionally he’ll dream of bigger and better things, but he squashes them almost instantly. When you live the way that he does, hope can be a dangerous thing.

Anna is the epitome of good. She gets straight A’s, volunteers in her free time, and never ruffles any feathers.  She’s closed off from the world in a way that pushes her to excel.  Her mother is almost non-existent, her father IS non-existent, and her brother got the hell out of dodge as soon as he turned 18.  While she’s not homeless, she is definitely on her own.

When Dean wonders into the soup kitchen where Anna volunteers, he seems somewhat familiar.  Anna’s determined to get to know him even at the expense of her own heart. Try as he may, Dean can’t keep Anna away.

“A place is just that, a place. But a home. A home is where your heart is. And this Thanksgiving it’ll be at all three.”

Home is Where You Are was so much more than I expected it to be. I feel head over heels for this unlikely pair.  Tessa is an amazing story teller.  She weaves her words in such a way that it makes it almost impossible to stop reading. I was up well into the night reading this one, because I simply could not put it down. She sucked me in from the very first chapter, the very first page.  I can’t wait to see what she comes out with next. If you’re a fan of YA, this book needs to be on your TBR list.

Tessa Marie lives in the same town she grew up in on Long Island, NY with her long time boyfriend and their fish. Under her real name, Theresa Paolo, she released her debut novel (NEVER) AGAIN, a NA romance, in Fall 2013 with Berkley (Penguin) and (ONCE) AGAIN released this summer. She is also the coauthor of the Amazon bestseller KING SIZED BEDS AND HAPPY TRAILS and BEACH SIDE BEDS AND SANDY PATHS, a YA contemporary series. She has a hard time accepting the fact she’s nearing thirty, and uses her characters to relive the best and worst years of her
life. She put her love of writing on hold while she received her Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing from Dowling College. When she’s not writing, she’s behind a camera, reading, or can be found on Twitter, Pinterest and Facebook.
