Listen, I'm not a huge dark read fan. Every once in a while I'll dabble in the dark, and usually come away feeling the need to bleach my eyeballs... But there's something about M.R. Leahy's writing. She's done the unthinkable - thrown me into the dark and made my time there...enjoyable.
I. Love. This. Series.
I do.
I can't get enough of it.
When we left Emmy and Kodah at the end of Set Me Free, Ms. Leahy had somehow morphed her effed up storyline into the setup for a semi MC continuation. I wanted more Kodah, more Emmy, more Buck and Drifter and JB. I wanted it all, and I wanted it now. At the end of Set Us Free, I'm left with the same feeling. I have answers now, but along with them came more questions. And if I'm going to throw it all out there, this insanely talented author made me love unlovable characters! Who does that?!
Listen, this book, this series, is a must read. I mean it. Do it. But remember, this is a dark read, and dark reads often deal with some very intense situations, emotions, and subject matter. If you're not prepared to read something difficult, hold off until you are.

M.R. Leahy was born in Amarillo, TX, where she was briefly raised before moving to a small Island in the middle of the Puget Sound called Whidbey Island. Growing up she lived with her mom and younger sister and a few cousins scattered close by. As soon as she could, M.R. Leahy left the small island to get a feel for what the world had in store. After jumping around a few places, she landed in beautiful Wilmington, NC where she not only met the love of her life but became pregnant with her first child. Not long after finding out about the life they created they married and moved to San Diego, CA so they could be closer to family and start the beginning to their forever.
M.R. Leahy now has two beautiful boys and is living life to the fullest, not taking anything for granted. She now spends her time being a stay at home mom. When she's not making lunches and kissing booboos, you can find her nose deep in a book getting lost in the many different worlds authors provide, or writing and creating different stories of her own.
M.R. Leahy writes dark romances but also has her hands in contemporary romance and romantic comedy. Her possibilities are endless.
