I can say
without a shadow of a doubt that Pulled
Under is my favorite book in the Kill Devil Hill series to date. There is something about Rhett that makes it
entirely impossible to do anything but love him. He’s the man whore who wants
more…with Sydney. It’s always been Sydney, but she’s hung up on the death (or
lack thereof) of Ben. It’s a slightly complicated semi-love triangle…
When
everyone around you tells you that the man you gave your first kiss to is a man-whore, and your brother openly hates him, you probably wouldn’t give that man
your virginity, too - years later, right? Not Sydney. She’s searching for
someone to make her forget – to make the hurting stop – and the only one she
can come up with is Rhett. He kissed away her tears once, why not let him have
the whole shebang. She needs just one moment where her thoughts don’t drift
back to Ben. Just one.
Rhett never
forgot the girl he kissed by the dumpster behind Clancy’s. She was too young
then, but she’s not now. And when someone that sexy waves a night of fun in
your face, you take it. Only one problem… Rhett wants more. One night isn’t
enough. Hell, neither is two or three or four. He wants more with this girl, and he doesn’t
even know her name…
After much
searching, Rhett finally figures out who Sydney is, but sometimes the person
you want doesn’t want you. Or does she? Sometimes you have to fight for what you want.

Sarah weaves
one of those very tangled webs for us. I wasn’t sure who Sydney would choose
until the very ends. A great deal of the story overlaps from previous books, so
you have a general idea of where the story is going, it’s just from the POV of
two different characters. I’ll be honest, usually this annoys me. I didn’t feel
that way at all while reading Pulled Under. I was completely engrossed in the
story, silently cheering for Rhett to get the girl.
I liked it.
I loved it. And I’d highly recommend both Pulled
Under and the entire Kill Devil Hill series. I’m interested to see where Sarah takes these
characters next. There are still a few loose ends - some individuals who need
to have their stories told, or wrapped up. I’m patiently awaiting those stories. Just don’t
keep me waiting too long.
Noah is determined to escape his past and keep his life under control. Then he saves the life of his best friend’s little sister, Georgina Turner — who is battling her own demons. He can't get her out of his head, even if Georgina tears down the emotional walls he so carefully built.
