Expect the unexpected. That's what they say, but it's easier said than done.
How do you expect a change so huge it rocks you to your core?
How do you prepare yourself for an event that will alter your life forever?
One breath One second One minute One hour One day at a time, you learn to live with your unexpected reality.
Kaylee Ryan.
Her name popped up in my email box, and I figured, what the heck? The name seemed somewhat
familiar, and the very vague description she provided of Unexpected Reality peaked my interest. There’s a baby and a
tattooed man on the cover! Count me in!
Here’s the thing… I don’t want to give much away.
Obviously there’s a baby and a daddy. There must be a mom
somewhere in there, and a few other characters. The dad, Ridge, owns his own
business – he’s in construction with four of his equally good-looking friends. Some
of his actions are questionable… One of his actions lands him firmly in
fatherhoodland.
There are some girls…
“Will she always feel like what’s feeling me centered? I sure as hell hope so. I will fight like hell every day to make sure of it.”
Two (or so…) are important. One of the less important ones
is a... witch (Replace the w in witch with a “B”. That’s more accurate.)
Oh, and there’s a twist.
Not a huge one, but a twist none the less. It comes along at the end.
Not a bad twist… In fact, it’s kinda sweet, actually.
The only complaint I have is that this book could have been
jam-packed with angst. We’re talking heart wrenching, life altering drama. But
it wasn’t. It had some extremely sad moments, ones that will cause you to grab
the tissues, but very little angst.
I’m glad I gave Kaylee’s writing a chance. It’s always fun
to find new authors to enjoy. And I DID
enjoy Ridge and… well, I’m not sharing her name’s story. What? It would give
something away. ;) Now it’s your turn to
give her a chance. <3
Kaylee Ryan has had a passion for reading since she was a little girl. That passion has slowly led to spinning romantic tales, and a one-click addiction. When she doesn’t have her nose stuck in her kindle or fingers glued to the keyboard, you can find Kaylee hanging out with friends and family. She loves all genres of music, and enjoys scrapbooking. She lives in Ohio with her husband (her real life happily ever after) and their rambunctious little boy.
