Surviving Ice - Cover
The USA TODAY bestselling author of the Ten Tiny Breaths series and Burying Water—which Kirkus Reviews called “a sexy, romantic, gangster-tinged page-turner”—returns with a new novel packed with romance, plot twists, and psychological suspense.

Ivy, a talented tattoo artist who spent the early part of her twenties on the move, is finally looking for a place to call home. She thinks she might have found it in San Francisco, but all that changes when she witnesses a terrible crime. She’s ready to pack up her things yet again, when a random encounter with a stranger keeps her in the city, giving her reason to stay after all.

That is, until Ivy discovers that their encounter wasn’t random. Not at all…

I have yet to stumble upon a K. A. Tucker book that I didn’t like love. Each one is unique, written in such a way that it keeps you hooked until the very last page. Surviving Ice is no different. In fact, I think it may be my favorite of the entire Burying Water series.

I met Ivy a few books ago and if I’m being honest, I loved her from the start. I’m a sucker for a tough, independent, take no shit heroine. She’s feisty. She’s also a tattoo artist. A good one. She’s been working in her uncle’s shop for a few months now with no plans on moving on. That’s not exactly her M.O, but when you find a place to call home, you hold onto it. Everything is going splendidly until Uncle Ned is a victim in a double murder inside the shop. Did I mention Ivy happens to stumble in and witness some of what happens? Horrible, right?

This is where Sebastian comes in. He’s a bit of a loner, an ex-Navy SEAL. He’s been tasked with finding something of importance relating to Uncle Ned’s murder and if necessary, he’s to get rid of any loose ends. *cough cough* Ivy…  Sounds simple enough. Yeah… it’s not. Not at all. Those icky things called feelings get involved, as well as pesky morals. What should have been a simple job turns into a life changing situation. Some might even call it an opportunity.

“She’s lethal but sexy, quiet but strong. I’d like to think that she’s a little bit like me.”

I’m sad to see the Burying Water Series go. It’s one of my favorites. I hope that when K.A. Tucker says it’s the last PLANNED book in the series, she finds another character that just won’t shut up, one that has to have his or her story told. Either way, Surviving Ice is a must read, and in my opinion, it can be read as a standalone. This is one book, one series, which you do not want to miss.

And don’t miss the previous titles in the Burying Water Series!
