LIVING WITH REGRET by Lisa De Jong Review + Giveaway!

We're celebrating the release of Living With Regret by Lisa De Jong! Check out the review below!

I had my whole life mapped out. Perfect guy. Perfect friends. Everything was exactly the way I wanted it.

That was until that night--the one I can’t remember. It’s all my fault, and now the memories are all I have left of him. Of us.

My guilt drowns me until Sam Shea steps back into my life and helps me to the surface. He slowly opens my heart and crawls deep inside before I even realize what’s happening. I know I don’t deserve him.

While I’m trying to get used to my new life, pieces of that night slowly start to come back to me. Lies and secrets shatter everything I thought I knew.

Maybe I’m not the only one living with regret.

Oh man. This entire series is jam packed with sad, depressing story lines. I want to swoop up Rachel, Emery, and Kate into one of those over powering bear hug type...hugs. The things these girls have had to live through are tough, just awful. If I'm being 100% honest, When It Rains (Kate's story) is still my absolute favorite. I'm just not over it. I laughed, cried, swooned, and cried some more over that heartbreaking novel. Living with Regret was a close second. Waking up in a hospital bed with no recollection of how you got there only to find your boyfriend is dead and you were at the wheel? Horrible. Heartbreaking. I'm pretty sure mine just cracked a little more just from thinking about it.

There is good news. As Rachel wallows in self-pity and understandable heartbreak, a blast from the past wanders into her hospital room. A former crush, and best friend, Sam is probably the last person Rachel expects to help her through this difficult time. But sometimes the least likely person is the one cut out for the job. Sometimes you need someone to gently lead you to the truth.

When one story doesn't have a happy ending, there's always a chance to state another one. I don't want to stand alone for the rest of my life and wonder what could have been if I'd been given my happy ending. I'm going to go after it.

I remember Rachel from the first two books in the Rain series, When It Rains and Changing Forever. She was by no means a main character, just seemed to pass through on occasion, usually with Kate in tow. It's not until Living with Regret that we're made fully introduced to her, and Cory, and Sam... Let's just say that I loved Rachel and Sam... It's pretty obvious from the beginning that there is more to Cory than meets the eye. No, he's not a transformer.  You can breathe easy now.

Over-all, this third installment was extremely well written and entertaining. It kept my attention for start to finish. Technically, this book could be read as a stand alone, but I recommend that you start this from the beginning. Lisa De Jong never seems to disappoint. Yet again she's met and exceeded my expectation. I look forward to seeing what she comes out with next.
