RIGHT KIND OF WRONG by Chelsea Fine Blog Tour, Review, + Giveaway!

Sometimes wrong can feel oh so right . . .

Jenna Lacombe needs complete control, whether it’s in the streets . . . or between the sheets. So when she sets out on a solo road trip to visit her family in New Orleans, she’s beyond annoyed that the infuriatingly sexy Jack Oliver wants to hitch a ride with her. Ever since they shared a wild night together last year, he’s been trying to strip away her defenses one by one. He claims he’s just coming along to keep her safe-but what’s not safe for her is prolonged exposure to the tattooed hottie.

Jack can’t get Jenna out from under his skin. She makes him feel alive again after his old life nearly destroyed him-and losing her is not an option. Now Jack’s troubles are catching up to him, and he’s forced to return to his hometown in Louisiana. But when his secrets put them both in harm’s way, Jenna will have to figure out how far she’s willing to let love in . . . and how much she already has.

Guys are the last thing I give priority to in my life.  It goes: chocolate, tattoos, a hundred other things… and then men. Because a woman doesn’t need a man to have a full life. And I’m living proof of that.

Jenna is a girl after my own heart - tattooed, straightforward, and tough as nails. She doesn’t take shit from anyone, including sex-on-a-stick Jack. After watching men destroy the women in her life, Jenna decides that they’re only good for one thing - sex. She’s always in charge, never giving up even an ounce of control, and refuses to get attached. Until Jack…

Jack… He’s big, tatted up, and sexy as hell. Is hell sexy? I never did quite understand that statement. He’s also a bit of a mystery.  Jack has been running for years. He ran so far that he ended up on the other side of the country.  The last thing he wants to do is go back to Louisiana, but when you’re family needs you, you go. Luckily he’s able to hitch a ride with Jenna, who happens to be traveling in the same direction. Like most men, Jack doesn’t like talking, especially about his past. What is there to hide? Turns out, quite a lot. And despite his best efforts, Jenna ends up smack dab in the middle of his mess.

We could argue until dawn, but it doesn’t matter because Jenna still believes she can outwit her heart. And until she thinks otherwise, I’m just a bloody guy in a bathroom waiting for the girl of his dreams to realize that she’s in love with me.

And so begins an epic journey that will forever mark their hearts – only this time, it’s not with ink.

I have been waiting, ever so impatiently, for Jack and Jenna’s story since first meeting them back in the Pixie/Levi days. Their witty banter and obvious sexual tension left me craving more of this dysfunction - dare I say? - couple.  In Right Kind of Wrong, we learn about one night that changed everything for these two. And Jenna refuses to acknowledge it – at all. If they don’t discuss it, or thing about it, or relive it, it never happened, right?

WRONG

Emotionally, Jenna sucks. It is painfully obvious that she belongs with Jack, and yet she can’t seem to come to terms with that fact. I have to admit that it is kind of fun to watch the light bulb finally turn on. Sometimes the heart wants what the heart wants regardless of the situations it finds itself beating through. It just takes Jenna what seems like an eternity to realize it.

I give Jack a lot of credit. The man goes through a TON in this novel and never seems to give up – not on his family, Jenna, or himself. He’s the most delicious combination of hard and soft. He’d do anything for the ones he loves. Who wouldn’t want that? Am I right? Yum.

While Right Kind of Wrong wasn’t my favorite installment in the Finding Fate series, it was definitely an enjoyable read. There’s a little sometime for everyone: voodoo, tattoos, sex, violence, bikers, stupid little brothers, annoying cousins, an intuitive grandma, one hilarious mother, and lots of sexual tension. You won’t be disappointed.  Chelsea is a fantastic story teller, keeping you hooked until the very end.
