D2U Blitz Excerpt

Oh, perfect I just get back from a run with sweaty hair,

wet and hanging loose from the hair band attempting but

failing to keep it in place. I’m wearing sweats and an old

Muse t-shirt with a stain on it from spilt juice, and who’s

sitting looking perfect in a suit and tie, tapping away at his

laptop?

Mr sexy/annoying as hell Finlay, that’s who.

He gets up and knocks back whatever is in his mug,

closing his computer, and smirks as he takes in my attire.

“There’s eggs still hot on the stove. Help yourself, and tell

Gaby I won’t be back for dinner.” He waltzes past me, his

scent hitting me in the face like invisible mist …delicious

scented mist.

“Do I look like your secretary?” I mumble over my

shoulder, grabbing a bottle of water I’d left on the counter

from earlier then guzzling it down. The warm palm hitting

my ass cheek causes a screech to choke out of me and water

to spurt everywhere. Warm air hits my earlobe as Finlay

whispers, “No, you definitely do not look like my secretary.”

Did he really slap my butt?

“Hang on. Is that an insult or a compliment?” I call after

him as he chuckles and shuts the front door behind him.

Looking down at my outfit, I scrunch my nose up. I need

some new clothes and I need to kick his ass for slapping

mine.

D2U Blitz About Ker

I have always had a passion for storytelling, whether it be through lyrics or bed time stories with my sisters. I wanted to be an actress growing up so I could live many roles but I learned early on that my mind was too active... I would want to change the script.I would watch films and think of ways they could have improved the story if they took another direction so i thought it best that i tell my own.

kerMy mum would always have a book in her hand when I was young and passed on her love for reading, inspiring me to venture into writing my own. I tend to have a darker edge to my writing. Not all love stories are made from light, some are created in darkness but are just as powerful and worth telling.

When I'm not lost in the world of characters I love spending time with my family. I'm a mum and that comes first in my life but when I do get down time I love attending music concerts or reading events with my younger sister.

You can find me on Facebook where i love interacting with my readers.

Dimpled smile of a boy
Hard body of a man
Sings like an angel
Fucks like the devil

I was stuck between a rock(star) and a hard place.

At fifteen, his poster hung on my bedroom wall.  At twenty-five his body hovered over mine.  Every girl’s fantasy became my reality.  I was dating a rockstar.  Yet I was slowly falling for another man.  The problem was—the two men—they shared a tour bus.

Flynn Beckham was the opening act.
Dylan Ryder was the headliner.

What happens when the opening act begins to shine so bright, it seems to dim everything else in its wake?

I’ll tell you what happens.  Things get ugly.

Spoiler alert ahead because I don't know how to review this book without spoiling anything.

I absolutely loved Lucky's character.  She's a smart, talented and successful girl.  She's not using her voice to its full potential though because of her severe stage fright.  She's using her talent to teach others how to train their voice to be the best they can.  She's amazing at what she does.  She and Flynn meet at her bar and she has no idea he's about to change her world.

“A man with good rhythm has always been my weakness.  Musicians have always been my kryptonite.”

We first met Flynn Beckham in Vi Keeland's recently published book Throb (I loved it).  Flynn is fresh off of a reality dating show where he ended up with the girl but she ended up with someone else.  He isn't necessarily looking for love but he's not opposed to it either.

“You keep telling yourself you can fight fate.  But I promise you, you're wrong. Some things are just meant to happen.”

Lucky is the girlfriend of the headlining band that Flynn's band is set to open up for on their tour.  Lucky is realizing that there is way more to her student/teacher relationship with Flynn and much less to her love with Dylan that she'd thought possible.

Long story short, Lucky cheats on her boyfriend with Flynn.  She knows she needs to end it but she can't find the right time.  Things get messy as they always do in any sort of situation like this.  The cheating in this book didn't REALLY bother me like it might have since she wasn't actively sleeping with both men.  Still not ok, but I enjoyed the book nonetheless.

One thing I love about this genre is a good sex scene and I know Vi is great with them.  I was really surprised that things didn't really heat up into well past 50% of the book.  With that said, there's a great story to be told here, and not just hot sex.  I'm hoping we get more from Vi with this series of characters and possibly a book about Avery, Lucky's sassy best friend.

Ten minutes later I’m still alone behind the bar and Avery is nowhere to be found.  I’m sure she’s in the back alley smoking, even though she swears every day that she’s quit.  I check the IDs of three very young-looking pretty girls—they’re over twenty-one, but barely.  I can’t miss their conversation.
“Seriously, he has to be gay.”
“Why, because he hasn’t noticed you yet?”
“No, because he’s too perfect to be straight.”
“Could we buy someone a drink?” one of the young blondes asks me.
“Of course.  What do you want me to send over?”
They giggle for a few minutes, then decide on a Screaming Orgasm for their intended target.  I mix the vodka, Bailey’s and Kahlua and pour it over a tumbler of ice.
“Okay.  Who’s the lucky recipient?”
All three of them point to the other end of the bar and say in unison, “Him.”
Lord.  That is one beautiful man.
The three blondes were clearly not the only ones to notice.  The brunette next to him with her full boobage on display is giving him her rapt attention when I walk over.  Yet I feel his eyes on me as I walk down the long bar.  I’m used to being hit on.  Men seem to find an attractive woman whose sole purpose is to deliver them alcohol an alluring combination.  They tend to become even bolder after tossing back a few drinks.
Halfway down the bar, I stop to refill a beer for a patron.  I don’t need to look up as I pour to know Beautiful Man is still watching me.  The hair on the back of my neck is all the confirmation I need.  He never takes his gaze off me, even when I turn, catch his eyes, and silently call him on his staring.
“I’m here to deliver you a Screaming Orgasm.”  Damn, he’s even hotter up close.  Sandy-brown, shoulder-length hair tousled just the right amount to make him look like he’s just gotten laid.  Long, lean torso, tattoos on his forearms peeking out from his long-sleeve fitted shirt.  Nice.  Then he smiles.  Dimples.  Yep.  He definitely just got laid.
“Thank you.  But I have a ladies-first policy.”  He winks.
I stare at him for a moment, then drop my eyes down to the drink, leading him to follow.
“Oh.  You meant the drink.” He smirks—it’s sexy as hell, and he knows it.
I roll my eyes, but there’s a reluctant smile hidden just beneath the surface.  “It’s from the three barely legal ladies down at the end.”  I nod in their direction and all three smile broadly and wave.
“Well, that’s disappointing.”
I arch an eyebrow.  “Those three women buying you a drink with a name that tells you what their plans are for you later is a disappointment?”
“I thought you were buying me the drink.”
Cheesy, I know, but there’s a flutter in my stomach nonetheless. “Sorry.  But you get the Doublemint triplets as a consolation prize.”  I shrug, trying to come off nonchalant, and turn to walk away.  This close to him, the guy is making me fidget.  It’s a big bar, but the way he looks at me makes me feel like we’re in a confined space.
“Wait,” he calls after me, and I turn back.  “What’s your name?”
I smile and point at the sign over the bar.  Lucky’s.

Find out how their story continues….
NOW AVAILABLE

conviction cover.jpg
Book Two in the Consolation Duet
I fell in love with Liam only to be left shattered into a million pieces. Again. The idea of being without him cripples me but the reality is, he’s gone.

He doesn’t understand and I can’t make him.

If only he’d see the conviction behind my words—then he’d still be here.

conviction live.jpg

conviction 1.jpg

Time isn’t something I ever thought much about.
It ebbs and flows, but it never changes. I can’t make it stop—no matter how much I want to. There’s no way to rewind the clock or halt it. In this moment, all I want is to make the world stop and go back to when I was happy and ready to tackle the world. Just two short minutes ago, there was no worry about how my day would go. I was going away with the man I love, the one who healed me. But time isn’t my friend. It slaps me in the face and laughs as I stand here wondering how the hell any of this is happening. I don’t want to move forward, and I sure as hell don’t want to slow it down.

conviction 2.jpg

Consolation (book 1) is one of the most beautiful and heartbreaking stories I've ever read and ending the way it did, Conviction became the most anticipated book I've had to wait for. What a long two months! Corinne Michaels' writing is beautifully brilliant and so heartfelt. I know she'll be one of my favorite authors for years to come. I don't even know where to begin with this review. It's so hard to write thoughts about this story because of the way Consolation ended. We don't know who Natalie will choose, but in the end, she needs to do what is best for herself and her beautiful baby girl.
“There’s so much confusion rolling around within me. I don't know what to do, where to turn, or how any of this is happening.”
Natalie's story is one of love, loss, heartbreak and healing. We read her words of growth and change and see how she is growing into herself and really, becoming the strongest heroine I've ever read. Natalie has dealt with so much in her life and the hits just keep coming to her. Ultimately, she chooses for her heart and her future. What happened to her in the past is just that. Liam is a wonderful man and potential father figure to Aarabelle, but can she go to him when her husband is in the back of her mind?
“I’ll never be able to push her away. I’ll wait forever if I have to, but I can’t fight this battle.”
Liam is trying to be strong to keep his love for Natalie going but doesn't want to betray his best friends trust while doing so. The events that lead up to the ending of Consolation and beginning of Conviction are the hardest things he's had to deal with in his life and that's comparing to him being a Navy SEAL. He's never been a relationship guy but is willing to try for Natalie and Aarabelle. Side notes: I love that we get a glimpse into Quinn and Ashton's relationship; I can't wait for their story! Mark absolutely stole the show. I hope he gets his HEA as well. I couldn't not five-star Conviction. So many emotional ups and downs as Natalie makes her ultimate choice and I couldn't be happier about how this beautiful book ended.

His voice is thick and husky as he refuses to break from my eyes. “Tell me you’re real.” “I’m real.” “Tell me you’re really here.” “I’m here with you.” My hand rises, and I press my thumb to his lips. “I’m here for you. I’m here with only you. I need you so much.” His eyes close as I rub my thumb, savoring the rough feel on my skin. “Stay with me,” he pleads. Liam’s hands rest on each side of my face as I drag him down further. “There’s nowhere else I want to be.” Our lips meet, and I lose myself.

Consolation (Book One)

Liam wasn’t supposed to be my happily ever after. He wasn’t even on my radar. He was my husband’s best friend—forbidden.
But my husband is dead and I’m alone. I ache for him and I reach for Liam.
One night with Liam changed everything. Now I have to decide if I truly love him or if he’s just the consolation prize.
